It’s NEARLY spring where we are!
I stepped out of our front door this Thursday morning to a brilliantly clear, slightly frosty day, and had a vivid image of Mole from the children’s classic by Kenneth Grahame, doing his spring cleaning…”Spring was moving in the air above and in the earth below and around him, penetrating his dark and lowly little house with its spirit of divine discontent and longing…”
I am expecting divine discontent and longing to set in any minute now. In the meantime, here are some cityscapes captured whilst walking home via Kelvingrove Park around 5 pm last evening. It was still light!!

Spring seems a long ways off. Our snowiest month is March and “spring” flowers tend to show up in June.
Oh my! Breeds hardy, patient souls perhaps?
I just noticed this morning that it’s getting light much earlier. One of the great things about this time of year is that, if you do happen to have a week or ten days of nothing but clouds, when they finally clear, the change in daylight hours is remarkable.
By the way… speaking of children’s literature and such…. Yours truly never had heard of Paddington. Who knows why? Too old for him when he appeared? No chidren or grandkids? Whatever.
Anyway, I went to see the film, and fell in love with that little bear. I loved it so much that, when the DVD comes out, I intend to get it. Watching it was like having spring bloom in my heart. 🙂
I do think I might wait to purchase until the price falls, though. The pre-publication price is US$26. I don’t think so!
Hi Linda thanks for visiting as Spring flexes its muscles…can you believe, I was all set to go and see Paddington – but it clashed with a funeral? Everyone I know who has seen this movie has absolutely loved it. So – I await the DVD eagerly.
