My approach as a psychological astrologer
Astrology links what happens in the individual and collective lives of human beings to the movement of the planets through the solar system of which we are part. It is an art/science charged with power: the power to help you find your place, tiny but unique, in the interconnected world in which we all live, move and have our being.
Clients can do this through the medium of their carefully calculated birth horoscope, and a conversation: between them, the astrologer, and the symbolic images of the planets in your birth chart. Those images paint a vivid picture of the characters on the stage of their lives. Helping clients in getting to know who those characters are, so that they can live with as much awareness, acceptance and understanding both of self and others as possible, has always been my aim in the astrological work I do. It informs the way I support both colleagues and students seeking my mentoring support.
My journey toward becoming a professional astrologer has been very varied: ask astro-wiki and they will fill in the details! Throughout the 1990s I broadened and deepened my knowledge by commuting by air monthly from my home base in Glasgow to London, where I was fortunate to study with world-renowned astrologers Dr Liz Greene and the late Charles Harvey at the Centre for Psychological Astrology in London, obtaining their Diploma in 1998.
As a psychological astrologer, I am interested in supporting colleagues and students whose approach is to use the horoscope to help clients become clearer about their strengths and weaknesses, difficulties and gifts, to help boost clients’ confidence and courage simply to be themselves, thereby aiding them in making sound life choices and decisions about their future direction.
However, I think that making specific predictions undermines free will, and can set up self-fulfilling prophecies. So – I do not encourage people to do that, but instead offer support to colleagues and students in looking at the planetary energies around the time of client meetings. This assists folk seeking help in setting their sails, as it were, to take advantage of the prevailing winds of their lives at the time of their consultation…
As time goes on, we all change, setting our own sails if we are wise to the prevailing winds of our own lives at the present time. I’ve recently decided it is time for me to take a rest from doing astrology readings; however, I will still respond to any enquiries for readings – by referring you on to experienced colleagues whose practice shares the values I have outlined in the previous paragraphs
.My choice now is to support both astrology students in training, and practitioners who need a confidential space in which to discuss their work with an experienced colleague. And, of course, to keep enjoying the pleasures both of teaching my small tutorial classes, and of various writing commitments. You will find all the information you need through the links below if you wish to contact me:
